#tbt first daffodil - 2/14/15

This is the post where I document blooms and also remind my future self that just because the daffodils are blooming, it doesn't mean that winter is over.

2/14/15 - first blooms

2/15/15 - single digit temperatures are coming,
so I brought the blooms inside

2/26/15 - up to 10 inches of snow in spots

Come on spring, I'm ready!

  1. Good morning Emily!
It has been that kind of winter here, too. It is 6:00am, still dark outside. I just got up, checked the weather, current conditions: SNOW! But I can hear ping, ping, ping against the windows: SLEET!
My Daffs and Hellebores were fine after last week's 4 inch snow, but I don't know how they will do with sleet. Forecast high today is 31F. I'll be staying inside, except to feed the birds. I have a new really easy chicken tortilla soup recipe to try out. Today is the perfect day for it.
    Be safe and stay warm

  2. Oh my, that's a lot of snow coming right after daffodil blooms! In North Carolina, we usually got a dusting right after the daffodils started blooming, but not that much!

Sooooo, the spammers have finally discovered my blog. I'm not sure if that means I've 'made it', but it does mean that I have turned on comment moderation for my older posts. Don't worry though, I get the notifications quickly, and promise to read and publish anything that doesn't include random comments or suspicious links.
